Workpani ("we," "us," or "our") is a free public service operated by 249Labs Inc., a Florida corporation, to help displaced professionals connect with hiring opportunities. Workpani is available at workpani.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By submitting a profile or using Workpani, you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

When you create a profile, we collect:

• Full name — displayed publicly on your profile
• Email address — used only for account verification and service communications; never displayed publicly
• LinkedIn URL — displayed publicly on your profile
• Location — displayed publicly on your profile
• Skills — displayed publicly on your profile
• Work preferences (availability, work type, remote preference) — displayed publicly on your profile
• IP address — collected at time of submission for abuse prevention; stored as a one-way cryptographic hash and never used for identification

Information collected automatically

When you visit Workpani, certain information is collected automatically by us and by third-party services we use (described in Section 5 below), including:

• Pages visited and navigation patterns
• Browser type, device type, and operating system
• Referring URLs
• General geographic location (country/region level, derived from IP address)
• Time and duration of visits
• Mouse movements, clicks, and scroll behavior (via Hotjar — see Section 5)

2. How We Store Your Data

We take data security seriously. Your name and email address are encrypted at the application level using AES-256 encryption before being stored in our database. Even in the event of a database breach, these fields cannot be read without access to our encryption keys, which are stored separately from the database.

Your profile data is stored on servers operated by Hostinger International Ltd., located within the United States.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Display your profile in Workpani search results so hiring managers and recruiters can find you
• Send you a one-time email confirmation to verify your profile
• Send you service emails related to your profile (e.g. deletion confirmation)
• Detect and prevent abuse, duplicate accounts, and fraudulent submissions
• Analyze how visitors use Workpani so we can improve the service
• Identify usability issues and improve the user experience

We do not use your information for advertising or sell it to any third party for commercial purposes.

4. Who Can See Your Profile

Your profile — including your name, LinkedIn URL, location, skills, and work preferences — is publicly visible to anyone who visits Workpani, including search engines. Your email address is never displayed publicly under any circumstances.

By submitting a profile, you acknowledge and consent to this public visibility.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services on Workpani. Each operates under its own privacy policy and may collect data independently.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use Workpani — which pages are visited, how long people stay, where they come from, and similar aggregate usage data. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to track sessions and recognize returning visitors. The data collected is aggregated and anonymized; we do not use it to identify individual users.

Google may transfer this data to servers in the United States and other countries. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Hotjar

We use Hotjar to collect feedback and understand user behavior on Workpani. Hotjar may record anonymized session replays (mouse movements, clicks, scrolling), generate heatmaps of page activity, and display feedback surveys. Hotjar does not capture passwords, payment information, or any sensitive form fields.

Hotjar stores data on servers in the European Union and Ireland. You can opt out of Hotjar data collection at any time by visiting hotjar.com/legal/compliance/opt-out.

6. Cookies

Workpani uses the following cookies:

• Session cookie (functional) — a single cookie required for the operation of the website. It expires when you close your browser. This cookie does not track you across other sites.
• Google Analytics cookies — used to distinguish users and sessions for aggregate analytics. These cookies persist for up to 2 years.
• Hotjar cookies — used to track session behavior for UX analysis and feedback. These cookies persist for up to 1 year.

Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of Workpani.

7. We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for commercial purposes. The third-party analytics services described above receive usage data only for the purposes of providing their services to us.

8. Data Retention

Your profile remains in our system until you request its removal. Upon a verified deletion request, your profile is immediately deactivated and removed from search results. Your data is permanently purged from our database within 30 days of a confirmed deletion request.

Analytics data retained by Google and Hotjar is governed by their respective data retention policies.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the information we hold about you
• Correction — request correction of inaccurate information
• Deletion — request removal of your profile at any time via our Remove My Profile page
• Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format
• Opt out of analytics — use the opt-out tools linked in Section 5 above

10. Children's Privacy

Workpani is intended for professionals seeking employment and is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of Workpani after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
